(ToT) Campaign

The “(ToT) Campaign” was a guest-submission campaign held on TOT1899.com from September 1 to September 30, 2007. Guests posted their impressions and episodes from riding Tower of Terror, and those submissions were published on the site.

In 2007, emoticons were widely used on the Japanese internet. The campaign name played on both the crying-face emoticon “(ToT)” and “ToT,” the initials of Tower of Terror. The emoticon “(ToT)” appeared frequently throughout the submitted impressions and related episodes.

On the original campaign page, guest submissions could be viewed through a design modeled after a mobile phone screen. I have recreated both the mobile phone design from the time and impressions that were actually published then, so please take a look.
